Privacy policy
This policy explains how Vorhaven Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles personal data in relation to this website, vorhaven.com. Our products operate under their own privacy policies — for ScanLyser, see scanlyser.app.
Who we are
Vorhaven Ltd is a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales under company number 17223114. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What this website collects
This website is deliberately minimal. It serves static HTML and CSS only. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, runs no analytics, and contains no forms. We do not track visits to vorhaven.com.
The only personal data we receive in connection with this website is information you choose to send us when you contact us by email.
Email correspondence
When you write to us at hello@vorhaven.com or any other vorhaven.com address, we receive your name (if you provide it), your email address, and the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence.
Inbound email is delivered through our email provider and stored in our mailbox until we have finished dealing with the correspondence and any required retention period has expired.
Lawful basis
We rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6 of the UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests — to handle business correspondence and to respond to enquiries about Vorhaven and our products.
- Contract — where the correspondence relates to a contract or a prospective contract between us and your organisation.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
How long we keep your data
We retain business correspondence for as long as is reasonable in the circumstances — typically up to seven years from the date of last contact, in line with standard UK record-keeping practice. Correspondence relating to specific contracts may be retained for the duration of those contracts plus any applicable limitation period.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share information only with:
- Our email service provider, for delivery and storage of inbound and outbound messages;
- Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, auditors — where necessary and under duties of confidentiality;
- Authorities, where we are required to do so by law.
International transfers
Our infrastructure providers may transfer and process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an applicable adequacy decision.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Have inaccurate personal data corrected;
- Have your personal data erased in certain circumstances;
- Restrict or object to our processing of your personal data;
- Receive personal data you have provided to us in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (we do not rely on consent for this website).
To exercise any of these rights, please email privacy@vorhaven.com. We will respond within one month of receiving a valid request.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force is the one published at vorhaven.com/privacy.html. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page.
